About the Event
Adoption Support Alliance clinician classes are an opportunity for community members to learn from adoption-competent clinicians in the Charlotte area.  The content of these classes will focus on a therapeutic approach or model often used in therapy to help adoptive families.  Participants in our Clinician Classes will leave with practical tools and skills that can be implemented right away in order to enhance their family’s functioning and will have a better understanding of the clinical services available to them in Charlotte.
On Monday, August 22nd, we will continue our Clinician Class series with Casey Jones, MSW, LCSW & King Jones, MSW, LCSW. Utilizing their formal training and years of experience as social workers, parents and partners, they will share strategies for preventing strain on your marriage, as well as ways of responding to marriage stressors as a result of the adoption process and parenting children with unique needs. Areas discussed will include maintaining connection, healthy communication, navigating conflict, and balancing family demands while still turning toward one another. You will walk away with practical strategies for maintaining and thriving in your marriage throughout the adoption and post-adoption journey.
To learn more about Casey & King and their work with families, you can reference their website. We are so grateful that they are willing to share a glimpse into this lifelong work with us.
