Kristen currently leads health equity strategy for Atrium Health’s Community Health and Engagement Teams. She brings 20+ years of healthcare experience in areas such as prevention and wellness, patient experience, and strategy and integration. Prior to Atrium, Kristen led board development, fundraising, operations, and community engagement in the non-profit sector as an Executive Director with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.

Kristen completed her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science/Health Education from the University of Kentucky and earned her master’s degree in Community Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She maintains her national counseling license and brings a patient centered focus to her work.

Kristen and her husband Ketan first became involved with Adoption Support Alliance when they began the adoption journey while trying to start a family. While ultimately not adopting, the mission stays close to their family. They now have 2 children; Raina (9) and Lyra (5) who keep them busy with all the activities possible!

Kristen brings non-profit leadership experience to the board coupled with an understanding of operations and development. She brings the hospital system perspective with the current clinical climate and focus on community and patient voice. Kristen wrote a blog about her fertility and adoption journey and created a safe space for others to share their stories. She is an advocate for using her own patient journey to help others.
