About the Event

Hope for the Journey (HFTJ) is an annual conference based on the Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Model, an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.  TBRI is a model originally described in The Connected Child: Bring Hope and Healing to Your Adoptive Family.  The conference aim is to encourage parents and caregivers who are meeting the everyday needs of children impacted by adoption and/or foster care.  The fundamental belief that underlies the teachings of the conference is that every human being has great capacity to grow and overcome adversity when cared for in supportive, connected and nurturing environments.

Sign up to receive online, on-demand access to all five learning modules that make-up the Hope for the Journey conference.  Conference modules can be accessed from April 8, 2022 through May 31, 2022.

In addition to accessing the conference, Adoption Support Alliance will host weekly community conversations regarding the material presented.  Community conversations will be a chance for the group, which will include parents/therapists experienced in TBRI to talk about the information, answer questions and discuss practical tools for implementation.  Community conversation participants should plan to watch the Learning Module before joining the conversation.

Community Conversations (Thursdays from 7:45 to 8:45 pm via Zoom). Please register for each of these discussions separately on ASA’s events tab.

  • An Introduction to TBRI  on April 21st
  • Connecting Principles on April 28th
  • Empowering Principles on May 5th
  • Correcting Principles on May 12th
  • TBRI and the Gospel on May 19th

Access to the conference is available for a suggested donation of $50.  For almost eight hours of training, this is a great value!  However, we never want lack of financial resources to be a deterrent to participation.  If you are unable to pay, use the coupon code SCHOLARSHIP to get access to the conference for free.   Adoption Support Alliance operates as a nonprofit organization and donations are always gratefully accepted.

Registration does include a printed and/or PDF version of conference handouts as well as access to our community conversations after each module and at the end of the conference.  A training certificate will be offered to you upon completion of the training.

Please note, there are some underlying Christian beliefs and principles that inform the TBRI approach and this conference.  We believe that non-Christians can benefit from the information presented.  However, we want you to be fully informed of the conference perspective before registering- whether it is an encouragement to you or a discouragement.
